The Right Channel for Every Question
county-cad.us/ is editorial — we cannot file your protest, file your exemption, schedule your ARB hearing, or determine your value. This page sets out exactly what we can help with, what we cannot, and where to send each kind of question so you reach the right desk on the first try.
If your protest deadline is within 7 days, do not email us — call your county appraisal district, county assessor, or county property appraiser directly. Every state page on this site lists the verified phone number. Texas: 30 days from notice or May 15. California: county-specific (July 2 to Sept 15 / Nov 30). Florida: 25 days from TRIM. Confirm with your county. Email us only after you’ve reached the agency for any deadline issue.

- Accessibility issues and reports of barriers using assistive technology
- DMCA copyright notices and counter-notices

- Notification of recent state law changes or county-calendar shifts that may affect our content
What We Cannot Help With
- Filing a Notice of Protest, exemption application, or ARB scheduling — go to your county office
- Determining the value of your property — that’s the county appraiser/assessor
- Reducing your assessment — that’s a county-level protest, not us
- Property-tax-consultant representation — Texas requires licensure under Tex. Occ. Code Ch. 1152; other states have varying frameworks
- Tax bill payment or installment-plan questions — go to your county tax collector or tax assessor-collector (separate from the appraiser/assessor in most states)
- Property-record corrections or address changes — go to your county office
- Address-confidentiality program enrollment — go to your state attorney general’s program
- FCRA-permissible-purpose property reports — use a licensed CRA
- Tax-sale legal advice or investment guidance — consult a licensed real estate attorney
- Adding any agency or business listing — we are not a paid directory
- Legal advice or tax advice on any matter — consult a licensed attorney, Texas-licensed property tax consultant, or CPA

What We Need Before Email
- Page URL the issue is about (full URL from your address bar)
- Brief description of what’s wrong or what you’re requesting
- For dial-test failures: phone number called + what happened
- For deadline change reports: county + new deadline + source (link to county notice or screenshot of mailing)
- For privacy rights requests: your state of residence + which right
- For accessibility issues: assistive technology + browser
- For DMCA: all six required elements (see DMCA Policy)
Do not send your Social Security Number, parcel/account number, complete assessment notice, or financial details through unencrypted email. We do not need them. For a county-specific procedural question, the county office is the right destination — not us.
Postal Mail
If you must send postal mail, use the email address first to confirm the appropriate handling. We do not publish a postal address for routine correspondence to limit physical-mail abuse and to encourage faster electronic handling.
